Share your thoughts on MARC's transportation planning process!

As the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Kansas City region, the Mid-America Regional Council undergoes a certification review every three years conducted by our federal partners — the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The primary purpose of a certification review is to:

1) Formalize the continuing oversight and day-to-day evaluation of the planning process.
2) Ensure that the planning requirements of 23 U.S.C. 134 and 49 U.S.C. 5303 are being implemented.
3) Provide advice and guidance on enhancing the planning process and improving the quality of transportation investment decisions.

The review can serve as a catalyst to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the planning process and helps ensure the major transportation planning issues facing the metropolitan area are being addressed.

In conducting the review, MARC, on behalf of FTA and FHWA, assists in collecting input from stakeholders and the public regarding MARC's transportation planning process. Providing your input through this short questionnaire is an essential part of this review.
